State Conference: Early Childhood Education

August 9 - 10 2024

The conference provides an outstanding and affordable professional learning opportunity for early childhood educators from across Western Australia who are seeking to continuously improve their classroom practices.

The conference will actively engage early childhood educators in 2 key themes:

1. Education principles, practices and outcomes to help children be, belong and become all that they can.

2. Developing early childhood teacher competence to help YOU be, belong and become the very best that YOU can.

The program features three key teaching and learning streams including:

Development and
Learning

Exploring literacies, numeracies, STEM, physical development, creativity and sustainability.

Play-Based
Learning

Including principles of development and learning through play: theory and practice thereof, symbolic representation in children’s play and observation and documentation of development and  learning in play.

Resilience, Relationships and Identity

Such as Cultural Responsiveness (including Indigenous Education), trauma informed practice and teacher and student well-being / mindfulness.

These three teaching and learning streams align most directly with the following Quality Areas from the National Quality Standard for Early Childhood Education
